Conference Poster Print Guidelines

Instructions and Guidelines for ENETS Poster Session 2019 for "printed posters"

All accepted abstracts are eligible for poster presentation (hard copy and e-poster). If an oral presentation is accepted, authors will not be eligible for poster prizes.

Approved abstract authors can hang up their posters at the CCIB conference venue, on the ground floor, from Tuesday, 5 March 2019, between 14:00 and 18:00. Authors are also invited to hang up their work on Wednesday, 6 March 2019 (which is when the conference postgraduate course takes place), from 7:30 until 17:30.

Please use the cloakroom to store your poster tubes. ALL POSTERS MUST BE REMOVED BY 16:30 ON FRIDAY. All posters left after 16:30 will be disposed of.

The names of pharmaceutical companies may NOT be shown on posters/e-posters, please replace pharmaceutical company names by “Industry-sponsored”.

The organisers will provide suitable fixing materials, and onsite assistance will be available to help you to display your poster. Look out for the ENETS POSTER BOOTH when you enter the exhibition hall.

It is not possible to print posters on-site!

Please use the template

We strongly recommend you use our poster template, it can be downloaded as a PDF or PPT file at the bottom of this page.

  • Posters must be on A0 size paper (ca. 841 x 1,189 mm).
  • Posters must be designed and presented VERTICALLY. Posters designed horizontally will not be accepted or will be disqualified.
  • The ENETS logo must be used in accordance with the ENETS logo branding guidelines. Please read here.
  • You or your co-authors are responsible for affixing your poster to the panels provided at the conference centre. Poster strips will be provided. Each poster panel will be labelled with a number, you will be informed about the number of your poster board before the conference. At least one author must be present during the poster viewing to explain your work and answer questions. A major advantage of this type of presentation is the exchange fostered between investigators.
  • The poster should contain the title of the corresponding paper, the authors, institution and the institution’s location.
  • Avoid colour combinations which are difficult to read.
  • The aims of the study, the question to be asked or the hypothesis to be tested should be clearly and succinctly stated (in as few words as possible).
  • Briefly outline your methods. Provide details only for new methods or important modifications of older ones.
  • The conclusions should be succinctly stated in large type. Many attendees read this first, hence it should be easy to understand.
  • Please remove and take your poster with you at the end of the conference. Posters that are not removed by Friday, 8 March 2019, at 18:00, will be disposed of. ENETS will not keep or forward forgotten posters to any presenter.

Tips when preparing your poster:

  1. Provide the full title of your abstract (at least 2 inches/5 cm high - it is usually the first, if not only, thing an attendee will read) as well as a list of all authors and affiliations. Use this information as a headline in your work.
  2. Any text should include the structure elements used in your submission (background, hypothesis, results and conclusions) – this should be detailed, and in an expanded form.
  3. Provide a clear “take-home message”, which highlights the main findings of your poster; highlight this “take-home message” in the poster in a warm colour. It should also be located at eye-level.
  4. Your poster should be able to be read at a distance. Use colour wisely to provide contrast for each section of your poster. Try to avoid big tables (as they are generally hard to read from a distance) and present as much data in graphs as possible. Ensure the flow of your poster is logical.
  5. Include a sentence about potential “conflicts of interests” in the poster.
  6. Remember that hundreds of posters and presentations will be made available to the attendees.
  7. Highlight in your poster the question raised and how you answered this. It will help attract people passing by.
